1. From an All-India survey conducted in 1951-52, largely with the assistance of the forest and agricultural departments of the various States, it appears that the introduced species of the Lantana Bug, Teleonemia scrupulosa Stal, in India has, during a period of about 10 years (1941-43 to 1951-52), become dispersed and established not more than about 26 miles from its centre of dispersal, viz., Dehra Dun. 2. The average rate of dispersal and establishment thus works out at about 2½ miles per year.
