Dendrocalamus hamiltonii Nees and ex Munro, a versatile Bamboo of H.P.shows limitation in mass propagation through vegetative method using culm cuttings due to low ischolar_maining. Application of auxins (IBA, NAA) and Phenols (Gallic acid, Resorcinol and Vanallic acid) in various doses and duration caused dose specific stimulation in sprouting, ischolar_maining, rhizome formation and survival of its one year old culm cuttings planted in March.
