Successful plantations with many indigenous species have been raised under Compensatory Afforestation Project under Telugu Ganga in the Southern districts of Andhra Pradesh. The performance of the plantations raised under semi-mechanical method (i.e. Upischolar_maining and ploughing) proved to be better than that of the plantations raised without upischolar_maining the existing growth. As seen from the growth data, Pterocarpus santalinus (Red Sanders) is showing maximum growth in terms of height, whereas Terminalia arjuna has shown maximum Girth at Breast Height. Derris indica is showing minimum height growth, among all the species.
