Studies on Chlorophyll Content and Dry Matter Production in Bhimal (Grewia optiva Drummond) Seedlings

Total chlorophyll content and dry matter production in Bhimal seedlings were studied at Almora District in Kumaun Region. Total chlorophyll increased from September to November and decreased from December to March. Since April onwards, it again increased with slight decline in June due to high temperature. Chlorophyll a/b ratio was higher than one ranging from 1.13 to 1.82. Total chlorophyll in plant was positively correlated with dry matter production (r=O.957. P
