The use of synthetic chemicals in pest management in agriculture is expensive and not safe. Chemicals derived from neem are cheap and safe. Farmers should be encouraged to replace the synthetic chemicals with those of derived from neem. Efforts should be made to develop simple methods of extraction of neem chemicals for the use of small farmers in pest management. The farmers should be self sufficient in growing and using the chemicals derived from neem trees for pesticides. Scientific research on the different aspects of neem must be initiated in research institutions and be strengthened in the already involved ones.
