Rooting Cladode Segments : a New Technique for the Rapid Mass Clonal Propagation of Cladode Bearing Plant Species
Subscribe/Renew Journal
This paper describes a new technique of macro propagation for the rapid mass multiplication of clonal material of cladode bearing species viz; Casuarina equiselifolia. Casllorina glauco and Tamarix aphylla by ischolar_maining cladode segments. Accordingio this method. The needle-like cladodes are collected and made into 4.0 cm long Aegments, treated with IBA and planted under intermittent mist. Rooting and survivability of the segments was found to he quite satisfactory. The relevance of this new technique for the rapid mass clonal multiplication of forest tree species has heen discussed.
