Highlights Of Kerala Forest Development Corporation

The paper gives an account of activities and achievements of Kerala Forest Development Corporation which was established on 24.1.1975. Presently, Corporation is mainly dealing with raising of plantation of pulpwood, matchwood, cardamom and tea. Most of the plantations specially pulpwood have poor stocking and yield. Corporation is considering ways and means to improve productivity of these plantations. Pulpwood is supplied to the industries at concessional rates and the Corporation is not getting market rate which would have improved its financial position.
