The general variation pattern in 6 metric traits of 30 mulberry varieties was studied under uniform agroclimatic conditions for four consecutive years. The range of variability encountered in these characters was from 14.98 m to 30.71 m for total primary branch length/plant, 17.76 to 2933 nodes/metre for primary branch length, 1.23 m to 1265 m for total secondary branch length/plant, 34.61 to 96.94 nodes/metre of secondary branch length, 8658 cm2 to 20751cm2 for leaf index and 1.203 kg to 4.675 kg for leaf yield/plant. The leaf yield had significantly positive correlation with the number of primary branch nodes and leaf Index.
