Delignification of Refiner Mechanical Pulp from Albizia lebbek by Soda Process

Studies on delignification of refiner-mechanical pulps from Albizia lebbek by soda process were carried out to prepare high yield pulps (yield 50% - 60%) having strength properties better or equivalent to conventional chemical pulps (yield 40% - 45%).It was found out that delignification of refiner mechanical pulp from Albizia lebbek by 8% NaOH could give high yield pulp (yield 56%) having the strength properties almost equal to soda chemical pulp of 45% yield.
