Variability, correlations and path coefficient analyses were studied, for yield, its component traits and solasodine content in Solanum elaeagnifalium Cav. The maximum range of variation was observed for the number of berries/plant followed by the berry yield/plant. Solasodine content ranged from 0.04 to 3.90 percent with mean of 1.75 ± 0.14. Coefficient of variability was high for the solasodine content followed by the berry yield/plant, the number, of berries/plant and the number of branches/plant. Berry yield/plant was positively and significantly correlated with number of berries/plant, number of branches/plant, test weight and number of seeds/berry. Solasodine content had negative association with all the characters. Number of berries/plant showed the highest direct path towards yield followed by lest weight and number of Seeds/berry. Number of branches/plant though had negative direct effect but indirectly affected yield via number of berries/plant, test weight, Number of seeds/berry and plant height.
