In this Paper, the enumeration effect on the choice of strips have been Investigated empirically for estimating the characters namely total number of trees, basal area and total volume of timber in forest surveys. The result reveals that the choice 0f forming strips in a suitable direction to the reference line should be taken very ludiciously. The choice should be made on the basis of variability of the population units based on past studies or on visual observation and the size of sample. For estimating more than one character, the same strips are found efficient for all the characters under study. The variance estimator based on method 1.3 is found to be the best for variance estimation from a systematic sample.
