Results on seed germination, survival, height and diameter growth and form characters are presented from a provenance trial at Koraput, Orissa, with Pinus kesiya at the plant age of 11 years. A total of 12 provenances, 7 from Philippines, 2 from Thailand and one each from Vietnam, Zambia and Assam, are included in this trial. After 9 years in the field the mean sarvival rate was only 47%. The average values for height and diameter were 10m and 16cm respectively. The differences between provenances were small and not significant. However, provenances from the Philippines and zambia seem to grow slightly better than those from Assam, Viernam or Thailand (one provenance). Both Thailand provenances exhibited the best furm traits.
