Human Resource Issues: Special Emphasis on Maintenance and Retention of Paramedical Employees in Private Hospitals

Over the years, the hospitals have grown in size and its activities. This is the era of private hospitals. The strength of a hospital is the strength of its Human resource. Many a hospital of world owes repute is indifferently housed and owes its reputation solely to the quality of its Medical staff. Globalisation increased competitiveness, technological development, and migration of health professionals. The migration of health care workers is an issue that arises when examining global health care systems. Maintenance and Retention measures are the steps taken by the management to retain the skilled employees of the organization. The study introspects the factors influencing Human resource issues in the focused key area of Maintenance and Retention measures for Paramedical employees in private Hospitals, Coimbatore District in employee and employer's view point. Healthcare in Tamilnadu has become a flourishing sector in our country. Coimbatore stands second to Chennai in Tamilnadu for highly affordable and quality healthcare deliveries of international standards. It has nearly 299 organised private hospitals among that 160( Above 50%) were took as a sample for study purpose. Interview schedule was conducted among the 160 hospital administrators/ owners and 800 paramedical employees of the private hospital in such way that it contains all the questions related to determining the issues in Maintenance and Retention of employees. The collected data were analyzed with the help of SPSS and the conclusion was drawn out.
