Effective organization, discovery, and retrieval of resources have always been essential functions for any library. Libraries have implemented various new information systems along with traditional library systems such as federated search, web-scale discovery, next-generation catalogue, etc. Faceted navigation, known as faceted search, faceted browsing, or guided navigation, has been applied in many e-commerce sites and dominates features in the interaction paradigm. Faceted approach to knowledge organization in searching and navigation features in the online catalogue supports users in finding the information needed in the most effective and efficient manner. This paper discusses feceted searching and navigation application in library online public access catalogues(OPAC).
