The dictum 'right book for the right reader at the right time' was pronounced by Ranganathan more than 80 years ago. Even with all the technologies around finding right information has not necessarily become easier. It is a matter of experience of all of us that we find a lot of noise in the results of any search engines. A survey estimates that 40% of searches are unsuccessful. The probable reasons for such failure are that people use the search systems more as a filtering tool than searching for new things and inappropriate description of the information objects. It is in this context, the skills and knowledge of librarians are not only become relevant, but in high demand. Unfortunately librarians are not exploiting the advantage that they have. In this brief write up, let us concentrate on the recent developments in resource description.
