Subscribe/Renew Journal
This paper notes that the Science Citation Index (SCI) has utterly failed in covering the Indian journals. India produces a large number of papers in Science and Technology and allied fields. It is felt that the time has come when India should loudly think to produce its own Indian Science Citation Index (ISCI) and Indian Social Science Citation Index (ISSCI). It proposes the organizations to be involved and the important Information Scientists whose advise can be sought in preparing ISCI due to their rich experience in the area of bibliometrics. It suggests the names of organizations which produce large databases in Science and Technology help of funding agencies to be tapped for funding ISCI is also suggested.
