Explains need for developing integrated library automation package name IIT Kanpur Library Automation System (iitKLAS). Highlights circulation control module and its essential features. Discusses how this menu driven system supports features like user management, registration/renewal of members, check-in and -out, reservation of documents, and queries like status of loan record of a user, status of a document, over due charges, and statistics of circulation transactions. Explains need for restricting access, to various modules of iitKLAS, particularly. circulation data: for security reasons. Concludes by explaining impact of the computerised circulation control system on both library personnel and the users.
