The Indo-US Joint Commission for Science and Technology has identified scientific and technical information as an important area for bilateral cooperation between India and the USA. Dr Lee G Burchinal, Director, Division of Information Science, National Science Foundation, Washington, DC, visited India during December 1975-January 1976, to initiate a joint programme for cooperation between India and USA in the area of Scientific and Technical Information. The organization of joint seminars is one of the items for such cooperation.
