The Indo-US Joint Commission for Science and Technology has identified scientific and technical information as important area for bilateral cooperation, between India and USA. A joint programme was initiated during December 1975 and January 1976 in the area of Scientific and Technical Information. One of the items of such cooperation is organisation of joint seminars. In pursuance of this programme, two seminars have been held. The first Indo-US Seminar was held at Washington during 13 to 15 October 1976.
