Information Analysis and Consolidation Methods and Techniques - A Case Study

Describes the mechanics of preparation of an IAC product taking "Background paper for construction of low cost roads in marshy and wet areas of the ESCAP region" as a case study at Central Road Research institute. New Delhi. Methods and techniques used for analysing the problem, identification of sources, selection, collection, sifting, recording and processing of information/data and difficulties faced are highlighted. Independent and shared activities of information specialists and subject experts are described. The evaluation of the IAC product and its impact is discussed. The study reveals that 60% of the efforts of the subject experts were saved by the part played by information specialists", Detailed information about the ESCAP region countries, problem analysis,  information tracking path activity records and feed back proforma and time study records along with diagramatical presentation of the entire activities are provided, through appendices as an aid for easy comprehension.
