Facet analysis of subjects is found helpful in information, storage and retrieval. Ordering of the facets so as to form a hierarchical structure is deemed to be more effective. The effectiveness is measured with the help of 'Entropy'. This gives the amount of distoration in communication and thereby the disorganisation in the system. Hierarchical structures based, on Wall-picture principle functions at higher level of effectiveness.

Abstract

Facet analysis of subjects is found helpful in information, storage and retrieval. Ordering of the facets so as to form a hierarchical structure is deemed to be more effective. The effectiveness is measured with the help of 'Entropy'. This gives the amount of distoration in communication and thereby the disorganisation in the system. Hierarchical structures based, on Wall-picture principle functions at higher level of effectiveness.
