Some Selected Extra-Curricular Components in Information Science

Presents three key components indicating the knowledge, skills and activities needed in an information worker. They are: (a) development of adequate relationship with people; (b) management skills, and (c) creating confidence in clientele about information professionals' capabilities. Some examples of the selected components include: method of studying a subject; communication skills; technical writing; learning processes and teaching techniques; forecasting; desk research; problem formulation strategies; decision making processes; systems analysis.
