Facebook Posts and Lotka's Law

Facebook is an online social networking site. It allows registered users to create profiles, upload photos and video, send messages and keep in touch with friends, family and colleagues. It is a very popular social networking site. Librarians use it for official and personal communication purpose. The present study examines the participation of librarians in Facebook by testing whether it follows the pattern given by Lotka's law. The result shows that it does not. The paper analyses the reasons and also provides the methods of collecting data for bibliometric study.
