Perceptions of Executives on HRM Practices through HR Value Proposition
Subscribe/Renew Journal
This paper explores the perceptions of executives on the role of HR in terms of HR value proposition. The model consists of five elements: 1) knowledge of external business realities, 2) serving external and internal stakeholders, 3) crafting HR practices, 4) building HR resources, and 5) ensuring HR professionalism. The data collected from 1030 executives from 46 organizations on the five elements was considered for analysis. The study found that HR professionals are relatively better in adding value through HR practices, building HR resources, and ensuring HR professionalism when compared to serving their stakeholders, and the demonstration of their knowledge of external business realities. HR value addition seemed to be better in the IT&ITES sector rather than in manufacturing and service sectors.
