Knowledge Management and LIS Professionals
Subscribe/Renew Journal
In the light of ownership claims on Knowledge Management by various professional groups, this paper highlights the role of LIS professionals in KM and discusses its implications on the profession. Observes that KM is an opportunity, traces the KM initiatives and lists the skills required to carry out the responsibilities and functions of KM. This paper also describes the implications on LIS education, professional growth and attitude required. Concludes that finding creative solutions and proactive humane approach will help LIS professionals to withstand the challenges of KM.
