Osteoporosis is characterized by low bone mass microarchitectural deterioration of bone tissue leading to enhanced bone fragility and consequently increasing the fracture risk among elderly people. However, osteoporosis is the sub-clinical or symptomless condition and becomes clinically evident only when a person suffers a fracture. Osteoporosis affects almost all parts of skeleton but fractures usually occur in spine leading to vertebral crush fracture, the distal radius causing colle's fracture and proximal femur resulting in hip fracture, which is very common.
