Warli is a dominant tribal group in Thane district of Maharashtra which are scattered in the forest areas of the north eastern part adjacent to Union territories of Dadra nagar Haveli and Gujrat state border. As little land is available to them for cultivation because of hill slopes and thick protected forest, Warlis are totally dependent on forest and forest produce.
