The developmental potential of a society depends on the physical and mental state for which early childhood lays the foundation. The new born child is exceptionally vulnerable to undernourishment since nutritional deficiency has adverse effect not only on physical and mental development but also on high mortality and morbidity. Nutritional anthropometry is one of the simple methods of assessment of growth and development especially in young children.
