The influence of oral contraceptives (DCs) on lipid and lipoprotein metabolism has been the subject of many investigators because of their association with atherosclerotic diseased data on studies of serum lipids and lipoproteins in OC users is conflicting and confusing due to different mode of selection of patients, designing of experiments, various dosages and types of steroids used in OC and multiplicity of methods employed for their analysis. Moreover most of the studies have been carried out in countries where diets are rich in animal fats.
