Effect of Feeding for Maldehyde Treated Groundnut Cake on Rumen Metabolism in Crossbred Calves
Subscribe/Renew Journal
During the process of fermentation in the rumen, the dietary proteins are hydrolysed by rumen microbes into amino acids. The amino acids are then deaminated with the formation of ammonia. The rate of proteolysis in the rumen is closely related to the solubility of proteins. Many scientists have tried to protect good quality proteins from degradation in the rumen by following different physical and chemical treatments. Protection of proteins from degradation in the rumen by treatment with formaldehyde has been widely used in the recent years.
