Studies on the Ensilage of the Residues Left after Extraction of Leaf Protein from Lucerne and Hybrid Napier Grass

It has been emphasised that for the sake of both economy and amenity the two by-products of the leaf protein extraction procedure, the fibre and the whey, should both be utilised. Raymond and Harris found that the silage made from residues was unsuitable for all classes of stock and suggested that the material should be fed directly as roughage.
