Attitudes of students and human beings in general has been changing from time to time with clear justifications. This study intends at studying the attitudes of boys and girls pursuing technical education towards sports and physical education in particular. To serve the purpose 180 students (103 boys and 77 girls) who were pursuing Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) were chosen as subjects on their willingness. To study their attitude towards sports and physical education they were all educated about the purpose of the study and have given their responses in the questionnaire supplied to them. The reasons provided by the participants for their participation in physical activities and sports were obtained in different ratios as keeping fit (91%), strong feeling of well-being (85%), relief from stress (93%), increasing in physical abilities (90%) and to gain rewards and prizes (82%). The reasons provided by the participants for their non-participation in physical activities and sports were also obtained in different ratios as lack of time due to academic commitments (74.5%), lack of facilities to learn sports (60%), high level of competition (57%) and reluctance and laziness to play (55%).

The students chosen for the study were from the departments of Computer Science Engineering (CSE) and Information Technology (I.T). It was hence concluded through this research that students pursuing Engineering Education are well aware of the benefits of active participation in Sports and Games but still most of them do not participate in physical education due to the above listed reasons and the students who are active in sports and games are interested due to the benefits they have been gaining since school age.
