A Microbiological Study of the Hygiene Maintained in Day Care Centres of Chandigarh with Special Reference to Contamination with E. coli

The use of non parental day care for children has increased over the past several decades and mirrors changes in the social and economic fabric of our country. The infants and pre school children are intermingled in child care facilities which often lack adequate toilet and hand washing facilities and are frequently staffed by individuals with little or no training in the area of infection control.
