Diabetes is a chronic and metabolic disease. It is characterised by relative or absolute lack of insulin resulting in wide range of abnormalities of carbohydrate, fat and protein metabolism. Increased contents of serum and urinary zinc (Zn) were seen in most of the diabetic patients.
