Hospitalized patients, in addition to their maladies, may suffer from various other beinavioural problems, if the duration of the stay is prolonged, then such sufferings may continue to exacerbate. Eventually this, together with various other medical reasons, may affect the patient's appetite and hence attitudes toward food and consequently food consumption. Young educated patients emotionally may accept and tolerate the various kinds of stress better than the illiterate or less educated ones. A less educated patient may become anxious to leave the hospital environment for home despite the required stay. Anxiety is a common contributing factor for various behavioural problems. In a paying hospital the situation may be a little different than a free one.
