The Effect of Different Levels of Bengal Gram Protein Containing Normal and Subnormal Amounts of Calcium on Protein Biosynthesis Invitro in Rat Intestinal Mucosa, Ca2+-ATP-ase Actiivity and on Serum Calcium
Subscribe/Renew Journal
A high correlation between the levels of calcium binding protein (CaBP) and the absorption of calcium in the intestine has been reported in many studies". CaBP is located histologically at the brush border region of the intestinal absobing cell. The fact that Ca2+-ATP-ase, too, has been shown to occur at the brush border region. This has been correlated with the energy requirement of CaBP mediated active absorption of calcium'".
