Subscribe/Renew Journal
The pearl millet (Pennisetum typhoides) is said to have been introduced into India from Africa. Besides India, tropical Africa, Arabia and Pakistan arc other areas where the pearl millet is grown as a grain crop. In India, bajra is the fourth important staple food crop (next to rice, wheat and jowar) and is grown over 10.7 million hectares of land.
