Developmental Factors - Social, Economic and Cultural
Subscribe/Renew Journal
In development of malnutrition the role of socio-cultural and economic factors is greater than mere nutritional and medical factors. Eventhough poverty remains very much in the background in causing malnutrition, it is not the limiting factor. It is observed that in the same ethnic and economic groups there are young children who have normal nutrition. This observation opens the door for optimism and indicates the role of medical professionals, social workers and community in preventing and combating malnutrition.
