A Study on the Proximate Composition and Nutritive Value of Bamboo (Bambusa vulgaris) Grains for Mice

During drought of 1975 most of the bamboo plants in north-eastern states of India flowered. A considerable amount of ripen grains were collected and consumed by local people after roasting or moist cooking. In this paper some basic information about proximate composition and nutritive value of bamboo grains are presented.
