Nutrition Education through Domiciliary Management of Energy-Protein Malnutrition

During the initial period of the WHO aided project in the rural community, Palghar where all 1853 children under five years of age in 20 villages were being followed-up monthly through the integrated health-nutrition services delivered by local community health workers, one for about 2500 population and the staff of state health infrastructure, it was observed that after one year, 50.6 per cent of the children who were weighing 80 per cent and above of the reference weight', and were labelled as normal one year before, became malnourished.
