Comparison of some Chemical Characteristics of Indian and Canadian Brassica Seeds
Subscribe/Renew Journal
Genetic difference is the major factor affecting the chemical composition of Brassica seeds, although the influence of the genetic factor can be modified in a relatively minor way by climate, fertilization and soil type. In the present paper four varieties of commonly grown Brassica seeds in India have been compared, on the basis of their chemical composition, with two selected varieties grown in Western Canada, one high and one low in glucosinolate and erucic acid.
