Sweet potato (Shakar - kandi) is extensively cultivated in hot climate countries like India, China, Japan, southern parts of U. S. A. and Africa for its tuberous ischolar_mains. In its nutritive value, it is superior to potato with respect to soluble sugars and vitamin A.
