The information with respect to the influence of vitamins on the lathyrogenic changes is meagre. In animals fed on L. Odoratus or treated with B-amino-propionitrite (B A P N), aminoacetonitrile (AAN) or semicarbazide, simultaneous administration of riboflavin, pyridoxine, vitamin B12, choline, ascorbic acid, calciferol or vitamin E has been shown not to inhibit the skeletal manifestations of lathyrism while ascorbic acid has an additive influence on BAPN toxicity.
