Influence of Different Levels of Pulse Proteins on Hepatic Biosynthesis of Cholesterol, Faecal Excretion of Bile Acid and Cholesterol and Tissue Levels of Phospholipids and Cholesterol

We have recently studied the effect of different levels of gram and lentil protein on the liver and blood lipids of rabbits. The animals receiving Bengal gram and lentil at 12 per cent level for eight weeks showed increased contents of liver lipids and cholesterol with a concomitant decrease in phospholipid level in liver.
