Man's inventiveness continues to open up opportunities for development. However, there is a tragic gap between the high scientific research and the harsh realities of hunger, malnutrition and poverty, which are the lot of one half of mankind. This is the story which the Guatemalan noble prize winner Miguel Asturics tells us.
