Hydroponics is an innovative soil less technology of agriculture that is highly successful in addressing the issues related to food safety and cultivation of seasonal crops/fodder throughout the year. Wheat grass, a nutritional power house is considered as an important source of nutrients for humans. Hydroponically grown wheatgrass gets ready for harvesting with seven days of seed soaking while conventionally grown wheatgrass takes 21 days to reach that stage. A comparative study was carried out to compare the nutritional components and microbiological safety of hydroponically grown wheatgrass vs conventionally grown wheatgrass and observe which one is better and safe for human consumption and health.
