A Cross Sectional Study of Food Safety Related Perceptions and Practices among Women Working in a North Indian University

Food safety has emerge as an important global Issue with International trade and public health Implications. Food-borne diseases represent a wide spread and growing public health concern across the globe. However, this problem has more impact on hea lth and economy in developing countries than in developed countries'. In respone to the increasing number of food borne illnesses, governments all over the world are Intensifying their efforts to improve food safety. Food safety is defined as the degree of confidence that food will not cause harm to the consumer when it is prepared, served and eaten according to its intended use.
