A third of global population are suffering from anemia, mostly due to iron deficiency, with disproportionately high prevalence in developing countries. Global estimates of anemia prevalence averaged 56 per cent with a range of 35 to75 per cent depending on geographic location. Worldwide 41.8 per cent of pregnant mothers are estimated to be anemic with higher prevalence (>50%) In developing countries.
