Organic foods are defined as products produced by organic farming practices, grown without the use of chemicai fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides and herbicides and are fertilized solely by using organic fertilizers such as animal waste, crop residues, green manures or off-farm organic wastes. Presently, organically grown foods are gaining popularity among consumers mainly because many consumers believe that organically grown foods are of better quality, healthier and more nutritious than the conventionally grown ones.
