Organochlorine Pesticide Residue Contents of Human Milk and Dairy Milk
Subscribe/Renew Journal
Modern agriculture has brought along a plethora of environmental problems. Many of these stem from the abuse of agrochemicals such as pesticides, especially the persistent ones. The persistent pesticides like the organochlorines are gradually being phased out of our country. However, despite the ban imposed long ago on the use of DDT for agricultural purposes, the residues of this once popular pesticide continue to remain in our environment. Indiscriminate use of pesticides often as a preventive measure on crops and for storage of grains causes the transport of their residues from one system to another and leads to their build up in food chain posing public health problems.
